Top 10 Reasons to Attend the 2021 Eating Recovery Center and Pathlight Conferences
by Hannah Bibbo
It’s almost that time of the year again – our annual conferences are right around the corner! This year, we’re excited to invite you to not one, but two conferences presented by the Eating Recovery and Pathlight Foundation: the "Pathlight Conference on Mental Health: Transformative Solutions in Mental Health Treatment" from August 24-25 and the "Eating Recovery Conference on Eating Disorders: Transformative Solutions in Eating Disorder Treatment" from August 26-27.
This year, the conferences will be virtual again, but this is not just another webinar. Instead, this is a full-service virtual learning and networking experience you don't want to miss.
Here are the top 10 reasons to attend our 2021 annual conferences:
1. Completely Virtual Conferences
Both the Eating Recovery Conference on Eating Disorders and the Pathlight Conference on Mental Health are completely virtual for attendees this year, which means you can watch the live and recorded sessions from the comfort of your own home. You don’t have to worry about buying flights, figuring out transportation and hotel rooms, getting sitters for kids or pets, or anything else that comes with traveling.
Instead, you can learn from the comfort of your own couch or office and not have to worry about missing out on anything at home for a week. Not only are virtual conferences more convenient, but they’re also a lot more affordable, from accommodations to food, transportation, and even the conference itself.
2. Low Registration Price
While virtual conferences of course don’t give you the face-to-face experience that in-person conferences do, they also don’t come with the price tag of in-person conferences. Up until June 28th, you can save up to $50 on your registration with our early bird pricing. Registration is currently $49 for each conference, but if you register for one, you can add the additional conference for just $30.
After June 28th, ticket prices will increase to $79, and you can add the second conference on for $50.
3. Ability to Earn CE/CME/CNE Credits
With every session that you attend, you can earn 1.5 CE/CME/CNE credits! That means you can earn up to 15 CE/CME/CNE credits per conference. Attending these conferences gives you an amazing opportunity to earn multiple credits at the fraction of the cost of a typical in-person conference.
4. Multiple Networking Opportunities
Even though we won’t be in person this year, you’ll still have plenty of opportunities to network with other professionals. Throughout the conferences, there will be breakout rooms during the sessions to cultivate more intimate conversions and more face-to-face time.
Plus, you’ll have other opportunities to network and connect with fellow attendees by using the conference app.
5. Expert Speakers and Sessions
With 10 sessions per conference, there is something for everyone. We’re opening each conference with a keynote session and expert speakers. Kicking off the sessions for the Pathlight Conference on August 24 is Anne Marie O’Melia, MA, MD, FAAP, Howard Weeks, MD, with their session Neuropsychiatric Treatment Innovation - Current Research Trends.
On August 26, Craig Johnson, PhD, CEDS, FAED, Emmett Bishop, Jr., MD, FAED, CEDS, Harry Brandt, MD, and Susan McClanahan, PhD, CEDS, will be presenting the first of the Eating Recovery Conference sessions: Eating Disorders Treatment: Where We Came From, Where We are Going, and Lessons Learned Along the Way. Read more about our expert speakers here.
You won’t want to miss these! But, just in case you do, you will have access to the recorded sessions until the end of 2021 with your registration, bringing us to our next reason to attend.
6. Access to Content Until the End of 2021
If you miss a session or want to revisit the content, you don’t have to worry. With your registration, you will have access to the recorded sessions until the end of 2021. You can re-watch them as many times as you want at your convenience with the ability to pause, take notes, and rewind to get the most out of the session.
And, as an added bonus, you’ll get access to an exclusive Masterclass this coming October. More information coming soon.
7. Education and Research
With these premiere conferences, you’ll expand your knowledge with the newest research and up-to-date information in the industry. You’ll gain new ideas and approaches that you can bring back to your own work. These sessions will provide you with new perspectives and tools that can help you moving forward.
8. Combination of Live and On-Demand Sessions
One of the hardest parts about attending a conference is trying to fit it all in, but that doesn’t have to be the case with these conferences. With half on-demand sessions and half live sessions, you can attend every session that you want. And, if something else comes up, you will have access to all sessions until the end of 2021. Check out our agenda here.
9. Investment in Your Career
Continuing education is an investment in yourself, your career, your company, and your future. Not only will you be learning from expert speakers about the most up-to-date research and tools for the industry that will equip you with practical skills to use right away, you’ll have access to the material for months to come.
With tools from the experts at your fingertips even after the conference has ended, you’ll be able to take your education to the next level moving forward.
10. First Pathlight Conference
And last but not least, this is our first Pathlight conference. Last year, we had one conference with two tracks, but this year, we have two distinct conferences. That means more education for what you’re looking for. Just want to focus on the Pathlight Conference on Mental Health? That’s an option this year! And with the increased need for high-quality mental health treatment, gaining in-depth knowledge from expert speakers on mental health treatment will definitely be beneficial. (But don’t forget, of course, that the Eating Recovery Conference would be just $30 more for double the education.)
These are just a few of the reasons to attend our annual conferences this year. For more information on our conferences, please check out our FAQ pages, review our agenda, or read more about our speakers. We hope to “see” you there!
