We were created for connection, not isolation. When someone struggles with a mood, anxiety, or eating disorder, that person often also struggles with a healthy sense of connection to the self, as well as healthy connection with others. The COVID crisis pushed us all into social isolation and challenged our sense of connection in an unprecedented way. Healthy relationships and a sense of community are critical to sustainable recovery. As we now move from a medical pandemic in 2020 to a mental health pandemic in 2021 and beyond, helping our patients reconnect to themselves, as well as others in a healthy way, is vital to their mental wellness.
The target audience for this continuing education program is mental health providers and clinicians working with individuals with mental health diagnoses. Materials are appropriate for learners with an introductory level of understanding about mental health concerns.
