A presentation focused on the dynamics between the clinician and caregivers that may interfere with effective and supportive family therapy. The speakers will identify some of most challenging caregiver responses to adopting their role in their loved one's care, as well as the difficult clinician reactions in supporting families. They will discuss the clinician’s emotional responses to providing family therapy utilizing both research and personal testimonials. Lastly, they will introduce some ways clinicians can address both caregiver and clinician barriers to effective care.
