Pathlight offers a three-day-per-week intensive outpatient program (IOP) for students enrolled at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, TX.
Conveniently located in Jarvis Hall at the Counseling and Mental Health Center, our program allows students to pursue recovery while maintaining their coursework and extracurricular activities.
Each week, participants receive ongoing individual and group counseling based on the latest evidence-based treatment approaches.

Pathlight Mood & Anxiety Center is in-network with UnitedHealthcare, who administers the student health insurance plan at TCU. Anxiety Disorders
Anxiety Disorders Anxiety disorders cause people to have feelings of worry or fear that negatively affect their school, work, relationships or home life. They are among the most common mental illnesses in the United States. Anxiety disorders can be debilitating and make life very challenging.

Depression
People with depression regularly experience a strong sense of unhappiness most of the day, most days of the week, for several weeks or longer.

Mood Disorders
Mood disorders are characterized by persistent mood swings. People with mood disorders experience severe low mood (depression) or elevated mood (mania) for an extended period of time — above and beyond what most would consider to be typical feelings of sadness or happiness.

Obsessive Compulsive Disorders
OCD requires the presentation of both uncontrollable, obsessive, recurrent thoughts (obsessions) and compulsive behaviors that must be repeated over and over again (compulsions).

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that can develop following a traumatic experience.

Trauma-Related Disorders
A traumatic event is an event that involves relational trauma, death, serious injury or sexual violence. These events can be threatened or actually experienced. By nature, these events are shocking or overwhelming. When an individual develops chronic, long-lasting symptoms following a trauma, they may be diagnosed with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Our Intensive Outpatient Program is a flexible mood and anxiety disorders treatment program that allows patients to work or go to school during the day and sleep at home at night.

Residential
The Residential mood, anxiety and trauma-related treatment program offers medically stable patients a highly-structured and supportive 24-hour treatment environment.

Partial Hospitalization
Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) offers some of the same intensity and structure of Residential mood, anxiety, and trauma-related disorder treatment while providing additional opportunities to practice recovery outside of the controlled treatment environment during evenings at home or in peer-supported apartment communities.

On-site Intensive Outpatient
Our Intensive Outpatient program is a flexible mood, anxiety, and trauma-related disorder treatment program that allows patients to work, go to school, or care for children during the day and sleep at home at night.

Virtual Intensive Outpatient - Pathlight At Home
Pathlight is removing the barriers that can keep patients with mood and anxiety disorders from receiving treatment. Through telebehavioral health programming, Pathlight At Home (our virtual Intensive Outpatient Program) offers the same proven care as our in-person treatment centers.

The pressures of student life can cause college students to experience unwelcome or intrusive thoughts. About 38% of college students say they experience moderate depressive symptoms, with 19% experiencing severe anxiety symptoms. In addition, 34% of students say they experience moderate or severe anxiety symptoms.
Pathlight Mood & Anxiety Center provides highly effective care for mood and anxiety disorders. The program at TCU is identical to our other intensive outpatient mood and anxiety treatment programs across the country, providing compassionate, individualized care.
What is mental health treatment like at TCU?
When you join the IOP program at TCU, you will work with our therapist Rachel Gilhooly, LPC, three times a week. Treatment includes individual counseling plus group therapy. Our programs are designed to provide whole-person, evidence-based treatment that leads you toward a lasting recovery.
- IOP programming occurs Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays 3-6 p.m.
- Individual therapy once per week
- Optional family therapy sessions available
