Virtual College Symposium
Denver, Colo.—The need for mental health services on college and university campuses has reached critical levels. In response to this need, Eating Recovery Center and Pathlight Mood & Anxiety Center (ERC Pathlight) will host a free, two-day virtual education event on January 12 and 13 for college and university professionals.
ERC Pathlight’s inaugural Virtual College Symposium: Addressing the Rising Need in College Mental Health, will discuss identification, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of eating, mood, and anxiety disorders in the college population and provide higher education professionals with tools and resources to help them meet their students’ growing mental health needs. This free resource is designed to help higher education mental health professionals meet the growing need for mental health care on their campuses.
“The need for mental health services on college and university campuses has reached critical levels,” said Wendy Foulds Mathes, PhD, Eating Recovery Center and Pathlight Mood & Anxiety Center Director of Academic Programs and Continuing Education. “With this event, we want college and university mental health services and other professionals to walk away with valuable tools, resources, and information to better help them serve their students. The goal is for collegiate professionals to feel educated and empowered to support their students and to help raise awareness of the behavioral and mental health challenges students are facing on campus.”
Expert speakers, with decades of experience treating college students with eating disorders and mood and anxiety disorders, will review topics including:
- Identification and Inclusive Assessment, and Diagnosis of Eating Disorders on Campus
- Medical Management of Eating Disorders on Campus
