This presentation is intended to educate on the connection between trauma and eating disorders. Presenters will discuss the impacts of trauma on the brain and overall development, and detail how to treat trauma and eating disorders from a multidisciplinary team perspective.
Educational Objectives
- Discuss the prevalence of co-occurring trauma and eating disorder diagnoses and describe how trauma can contribute to the development of eating disorders
- Identify two ways trauma can affect the brain
- Describe approaches for treating co-occurring trauma and eating disorders
