Slowly, through the help of Pathlight, I began to turn the wheel and change my mindset. Trauma group was the first place in my life that I felt I belonged and had a sense of comradery. For the first time, I did not feel alone. My biggest takeaway was my mental health does not define me, and is only a part of me.

My experience with Pathlight taught me the importance of showing up for myself with the help of community and support even when I felt in my darkness. Pathlight encouragement helped me to recognize and believe in my ability to recognize, regulate, and accept that it's okay to have big emotions without judgment. When I initially started Pathlight treatment I learned quickly that doing this work is hard and now understand it was rewarding and worthwhile.
