Adam Callahan

Adam Callahan (they/he) is a seasoned non-profit leader, educator, writer and performer with over a decade of experience in education, theatrical and queer non profit spaces. Prior to joining Trans Lifeline as the Hotline Director, Adam served as the Senior Manager of Digital Counselors at the Trevor Project. While there, Adam led a team of over 1000 staff and volunteer counselors trained to serve LGBTQ youth in crisis 24/7.

Adam was a leader in educational spaces for a number of years. At the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, they led a team of program facilitators who delivered dynamic educational science engagements for thousands of museum guests each year. At the University of Missouri, they oversaw Residence Education programs for buildings of over 500 first year undergraduate students.

Adam holds an M.A. in Theatre from the University of Missouri, an M.S. in Higher Education and Student Affairs from Indiana University, and a B.S. in Media and Film from Missouri State University. Adam’s short autobiographical piece dramatizing their experiences growing up queer and Southern Baptist entitled “Vacation Bible School” was performed at the MU Life and Literature Series and the Midwest Theatre Conference.
