Biography
Julia is the Regional Director of Nutrition- West, for Eating Recovery Center. Julia Cassidy is a highly experienced dietitian with over 20 years of dedication to weight-inclusive and nutrition-sensitive care within the behavioral health field. Her leadership roles have included Vice President of Clinical Nutrition and Senior Director of Nutrition and Wellness. She is a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist Consultant, a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, certified in Nutrition Psychiatry, and a Licensed Body Positive Facilitator.
An active leader in the community, Julia has served on the Behavioral Health Nutrition (BHN) board for six years and was the Nutrition SIG Co-chair for the Academy of Eating Disorders (AED) from 2016 to 2018. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from California State University, Long Beach, in 2006, and her Master’s in Exercise Science from California University of Pennsylvania in 2009.
Julia’s expertise includes presenting nationally and internationally on topics related to mental health and eating disorders, such as nutrition interventions and strategies in the treatment of ARFID, the impact of nutrition on brain function, the crossover of ADHD and eating disorders, integrating nutrition psychiatry into eating disorder treatment, intuitive eating, and food exposures. She is deeply committed to supporting individuals in healing their relationships with food and their bodies, emphasizing weight-inclusive and comprehensive nutrition care.
