YOU CAN DO THIS AND WE CAN HELP
Designed for family and friends of individuals currently or previously in treatment at Pathlight Mood & Anxiety Center (Pathlight), this virtual education series offers convenient access—whether you're joining from home or between meetings at work.
Build your confidence and strengthen your connection with your loved one as you learn how to support them through their mental wellness journey. This four-part virtual series offers compassionate guidance, practical tools, and heartfelt insights to help you feel more informed, empowered, and less alone in your role.
For the most comprehensive experience, we recommend registering for the full series using the “Register for this Education Series” link below. The series runs monthly, with one session offered each week. Sessions can be attended in any order, so you can start at any point in the cycle. Topics include:
Session 1 - Tools for Connection and Confident Communication with Your Loved One
This session introduces Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), the foundation of Pathlight’s approach to family therapy and education. You’ll learn practical skills in emotion and behavior coaching to support your loved one’s healing and feel more confident in your role throughout their mental wellness journey.
Session 2 - The Psychiatric Toolbox: Treatment Approaches to Mood & Anxiety Disorders
This session will cover psychiatric approaches to mood and anxiety disorders, including brain development, treatment strategies, and supportive practices you can use to best support your loved one.
Session 3 - All About Anxiety: Symptoms and Supportive Practices
This session will provide an overview of the difference between anxiety as a human experience and anxiety disorders. We’ll cover typical anxiety disorder signs and symptoms, treatment strategies, and supportive practices. Your loved one doesn’t need an anxiety diagnosis to benefit from this presentation—everyone can gain valuable insights to better support them.
Session 4 - How to Help Your Loved One After Treatment
This session provides an overview of what to expect as your loved one transitions out of Pathlight and continues their pursuit of mental wellness. We’ll discuss the step-down process (or ‘continuity of care’), wellness planning, and practical ways you can support your loved one along the way.
