In this presentation, we delve into the intricate relationship between eating disorders and co-occurring ADHD, aiming to equip clinicians with insights for effective assessment and treatment. The prevalence of comorbidity between ADHD and eating disorders will be explored. Clinicians will leave understanding shared symptoms, warning signs, assessment challenges, and exploring comprehensive research-backed treatment strategies. This session will help clinicians navigate diagnostic nuances, dispel myths, and emphasize early intervention. Guidance will be provided on treating individuals with a dual diagnosis with comprehensive approaches that address both conditions concurrently. This includes psychoeducation, behavioral interventions, pharmacologic interventions and considerations for environmental influences.
