Janna Gornik

Janna Gornik is a registered nurse and has worked at Eating Recovery Center in Chicago, Illinois for over two years. She chose to become a nurse because she wanted to do meaningful work, and later chose to work in mental health because of her love for practicing therapeutic communication and witnessing the transformation of others. Janna started writing poetry at a young age as a way to connect to the world and navigate her emotional landscape. She continues to believe in the power of words, both spoken and written, and in the capacity for the human spirit to flourish despite hardship.
