Biography

Leilani Sechler LMFT, is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who has specialized in the eating disorder treatment field since 2012. With extensive experience across all levels of care—including outpatient, intensive outpatient (IOP), and partial hospitalization (PHP)—Leilani brings a depth of clinical understanding to the complex medical, emotional, and relational needs of individuals struggling with eating disorders.

In addition to her work in eating disorder recovery, she has a strong clinical focus on trauma treatment. She is trained in EMDR and Brainspotting, modalities that support clients in processing and healing from deeply rooted experiences. Her approach integrates compassion, attunement, and evidence‑based practices to help clients move toward lasting recovery.

Leilani is also deeply committed to supporting families as they navigate the challenges of caring for a loved one with an eating disorder. She works to empower parents and caregivers with the tools, education, and confidence they need to provide meaningful support throughout treatment and beyond.

Passionate about the future of the field, she enjoys mentoring emerging clinicians who are dedicated to eating disorder work. She is also active in community outreach, providing education to professionals on recognizing early signs of eating disorders and increasing access to effective, timely treatment.
