Adult Mood and Anxiety Disorder Treatment Now Available at Pathlight Houston

November 9, 2023

Houston, TX — Pathlight Mood & Anxiety Center is now open and accepting patients in Houston, providing adults the behavioral health treatment options they need right in their community.

Pathlight Houston specializes in the treatment of mood, anxiety, and trauma-related disorders. The center offers an intensive outpatient program (IOP) and five-day partial hospitalization program (PHP) for adults with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, other mood and anxiety disorders, and co-occurring conditions such as substance use disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), in 2021 3.3 million adults in Texas had a mental health condition and 43.4% of adults in Texas reported symptoms of anxiety and depression. With an increased need for mental health care services post-COVID, Pathlight Houston provides adults with convenient access to the higher levels of care they may need.

“Overcoming mental health struggles can feel daunting, and at times impossible. We’re here to guide patients and their families, working collaboratively as a team, to help pave the way to recovery,” said Pathlight Clinical Director Catherine Ruscitti, PsyD, CEDS. “Our programs provide the structure and treatment needed for those who are finding it challenging to navigate daily life due to their mental health or who need additional support to supplement their outpatient care.”

The Pathlight Houston treatment team is led by Dr. Ruscitti and Psychiatrist Dr. Kalonda Bradshaw, MD, and is accredited by the Joint Commission. All programs are led by a multidisciplinary treatment team of compassionate, caring professionals who work with each patient to customize their treatment and address their underlying triggers, behaviors, and symptoms.

“We understand the importance of having treatment options close to home, support systems, and community,” said Pathlight South Region Executive Director Landry Weatherston-Yarborough, LPC, NCC. “We are honored to provide increased access to mood, anxiety, and trauma treatment to adults in the Houston area.”

For those who have questions and would like to learn more about treatment and the day-to-day operations, Pathlight offers a monthly virtual event with a Q&A session, “What’s Treatment Really Like?” The next meeting will be held on Dec. 5 at 1 p.m. CT.
