-
Virtual Intensive Outpatient - Pathlight At Home

PHP for adults
Individuals seeking mental health care often wonder “will this work?” At Pathlight San Antonio, we give you the tools to help you begin your healing journey. Our team will use the latest evidence-based practices to meet your needs on an individual level.
Reconnect with the activities you enjoy
When you live with a mood or anxiety disorder, it’s common to lose your sense of connection with the life experiences that once brought you joy. At Pathlight San Antonio, we offer an array of experiential group therapies designed to help you rediscover your personal passions -- or to create new ones. Explore:
- Yoga therapy through instructor-led sessions twice weekly
- Healing through movement in our “understanding mind and body” group
- Gardening in our on-site community garden
We also offer opportunities to express yourself through art.
Start to heal the moment you feel heard
Our five-day-per-week PHP offers a unique, multidisciplinary approach. You’ll benefit from a team approach that includes a therapist, psychiatrist and, if needed, dietitian. Adults in our PHP will:
- Receive care Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Benefit from personalized treatment. You’ll receive unique treatment designed to meet you where you are right now. With specialty tracks in OCD and trauma-related disorders, we also provide education and support for addictive behaviors. Four dietary visits on site are also available for people with eating disorders as a secondary diagnosis.
- Access evidence-based approaches. Our approach helps individuals engage in a targeted and specialized way, lighting your path to healing.
- Engage in robust group therapy. Group therapy offers you an ideal, safe place to practice the skills you learn in individual therapy. We intentionally keep our group sizes small (10 people maximum) so you have ample opportunity to interact with others.
- Stay connected with your community. We believe recovery happens within the supportive environment of a community. Patients will participate in community groups twice a week, where they can speak freely about their standing in the community and express what they need to feel supported. We also offer conflict resolution therapy weekly to help people navigate any disagreements safely.
- Benefit from consistency -- right from the start. Starting on your first day in our PHP, we’ll help you create a plan that will lead you through to our IOP and on to aftercare. You’ll meet with your IOP therapist during PHP treatment to ensure a smooth transition when you’re ready to move to the next level of care. We’ll also keep your outpatient providers updated while you’re here so you can continue to receive support long after you leave our center.

IOP for adults
Our IOP offers care to adults (ages 18 and older) who are ready for more independence and flexibility. During IOP treatment at Pathlight San Antonio, adults will:
- Engage in programming from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., three days per week.
- Build and practice skills in group therapy, including exposure therapy and behavioral activation. These therapies focus on exposing you to the things in life that you may avoid fear. Exposures are done in a safe and supportive manner to help you get back to living a full life. We find these therapies to be incredibly beneficial.
Need help with an eating disorder?
At Pathlight San Antonio, we have a registered dietitian on staff and can provide up to four dietary consults for people with eating disorders as a secondary diagnosis.
If you need additional support for disordered eating or have a primary eating disorder diagnosis, we can refer you to our colleagues at Eating Recovery Center, located in the same building as Pathlight San Antonio.
